Lunch: Orange-Infused Rum Gimlets

Recipe by Julia Reed If you enjoy fruit and light, this refreshing summer cocktail is your new BFF.

Ingredients

2 or 3 navel oranges
1 (750-milliliter) bottle white rum
3/4 cup fresh lime juice
1/2 cup orange liqueur
1/2 cup simple syrup*
Ice

Instructions

Slice oranges, and place in a 2-qt. pitcher. Add rum; cover and let stand 8 to 12 hours. Stir in lime juice, orange liqueur, and simple syrup, and fill pitcher with ice. Serve immediately.
*To make simple syrup, bring 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water to a boil in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Boil 1 minute or until sugar dissolves. Cool 30 minutes.
