Snack: Coconut-Pecan-Crusted Brownies

Unlike the topping on German chocolate cake, which is soft and gooey, the coconut-pecan crust on this cake-like brownie is baked, making it crisp.

Ingredients

3/4 cup sweetened flaked coconut
3/4 cup pecans, chopped
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 °F. and butter and flour a 9-inch square baking pan, knocking out excess flour.
