Lunch: Cherry Apple Whiskey Sour Popsicles

This sweet-tart take on the usual whiskey sour is just right for summer and packed with and abundance of fresh seasonal fruit.

Ingredients

3 c. cherries
1 large green apple
1 lime
1 c. whiskey
1/2 c. sweet and sour mix (recipe follows)

Instructions

Pit cherries and peel away apple and lime skin; cut fruit into quarters. Blend all ingredients. Pour mixture into popsicle forms and freeze for 2 hours. Insert popsicle sticks and freeze overnight.
To make the Sweet and Sour Mix: Heat sugar and water in a saucepan until sugar dissolves. Add lemon juice and stir. Cool before using.
