Recipe by Sue Brown My mom made these when I was a little girl. We would love to help her and of course eat them afterward. Dust with powdered sugar, granulated sugar or cinnamon. Delicious!

Health and fertility benefits of Applesauce Doughnuts
Cinnamon is one of the best ingredients that someone with insulin sensitivity can eat. Half a teaspoon of cinnamon per day has been shown to be very effective at normalizing blood sugar levels. Cinnamon contains hydroxychalcone, which is thought to enhance the effects of insulin. It has also been suggested that Cinnamon prevents post-meal blood sugar spikes by slowing the gastric emptying rate - meaning that food digests slowly. Carefully slide doughnuts into hot oil. Turn doughnuts as soon as they rise to the surface. Fry until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels and dust with confectioners' sugar. Serve hot.
