Cinnamon is one of the best ingredients that someone with insulin sensitivity can eat. Half a teaspoon of cinnamon per day has been shown to be very effective at normalizing blood sugar levels. Cinnamon contains hydroxychalcone, which is thought to enhance the effects of insulin. It has also been suggested that Cinnamon prevents post-meal blood sugar spikes by slowing the gastric emptying rate - meaning that food digests slowly. Ingredients
Prepared waffle batter
Melted butter, for brushing
1/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. ground cinnamon
Dulce de leche, for drizzling
Instructions
Prepare waffle batter and cook in waffle maker.
Transfer to a cutting board and brush with melted butter. In a shallow dish, combine sugar and cinnamon. Dunk waffle in cinnamon sugar.
Drizzle in dulce de leche and cut into triangles and serve.
