Breakfast: Birthday Cake Oatmeal

Recipe by Lindsay Funston Need an instant pick-me-up? Want to act like it's your birthday without downing a slice of cake? Enter birthday cake oatmeal: part healthy, part decadence.

Ingredients

1/2 c. milk
1 c. old-fashioned rolled oats
3 tbsp. birthday cake mix (such as Funfetti)
2 tbsp. rainbow sprinkles
whipped cream, for garnish

Instructions

In a medium saucepan over high heat, bring milk to a boil. Stir in oats and salt, reduce heat to low, and simmer until oats are tender and creamy, 5 minutes.
Stir in birthday cake mix and half the rainbow sprinkles.
Serve in a bowl and top with sprinkles and whipped cream.
