Cinnamon is one of the best ingredients that someone with insulin sensitivity can eat. Half a teaspoon of cinnamon per day has been shown to be very effective at normalizing blood sugar levels. Cinnamon contains hydroxychalcone, which is thought to enhance the effects of insulin. It has also been suggested that Cinnamon prevents post-meal blood sugar spikes by slowing the gastric emptying rate - meaning that food digests slowly. Ingredients
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 package frozen soft pretzel nuggets
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400 ° F. Microwave the butter for 25-30 seconds, or until fully melted.
Pour sugar and cinnamon into a gallon-sized resealable plastic bag. Set aside.
Toss the pretzel nuggets in butter, then drop them into the resealable bag. Seal the bag, then shake until all of the nuggets are coated in cinnamon-sugar.
Pour the nuggets onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spreading them out in one even layer.
Bake in the oven for five minutes.
