Lunch: Cinnamon Bow Ties or Baked Jelly Doughnuts

The same sweet, yeast-raised dough can be used to make both of these treats. Baking the doughnuts eliminates some of the fuss--and fat--of frying.

Ingredients

1 c. milk
2 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. warm water
1 package active dry yeast
2 tbsp. granulated sugar
3 1/2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 large egg

Instructions

Prepare dough: In small saucepan, heat milk until bubbles appear around side of pan; remove from heat and add butter. Set aside to allow butter to melt and mixture to cool to warm (about 105 degrees to 115 degrees F).
