Broccoli is one of the non-starchy vegetables that has a very low glycemic index (GI), which is beneficial for reducing blood sugar levels. Broccoli is also a source of DIM (Diindolymethane). Diindolymethane is very effective in reducing the testosterone levels in the body, an action that would automatically curb male dominant features and regulate the estrogen levels in the system. One tbsp of honey has a glycemic index (GI) of 55.
Ingredients
4 tbsps ketchup
2 tbsps lite soy sauce
4 tsps cornstarch
1 oz honey
10 oz frozen shrimp
10 oz frozen broccoli
10 oz frozen peppers and onions
1/2 cup water
Instructions
1. In a bowl, stir together water, ketchup, soy sauce, cornstarch, honey, crushed red pepper and ground ginger. Set aside.
2. Cook shrimp and broccoli according to package directions. Set aside.
3. Add frozen bell peppers to skillet and allow to soften.
4. Add shrimp, broccoli, and sauce. Cook and sire until sauce has thickened.
5. Serve over brown rice.
6. Note: you can substitute any vegetables you prefer.
