Lunch: Strawberries with Crunchy Almond Topping

Recipe by Elizabeth Taliaferro This easy but stylish dessert is best made early in the day to let the strawberries macerate in the sweetened almond liqueur.

Ingredients

6 cups sliced strawberries
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons amaretto (almond-flavored liqueur)
6 amaretti cookies, crushed
6 tablespoons reduced-fat sour cream

Instructions

Combine first 3 ingredients in a bowl. Cover and chill 4 to 8 hours. Spoon into individual dessert dishes. Sprinkle with crushed cookies; top with sour cream.
