Brown rice is a natural source of Inositol, a derivative of Vitamin B (which is often prescribed in the form of supplements for women with PCOS). Inositol can effectively control the symptoms of PCOS by reducing insulin resistance and improving insulin sensitivity.
Ingredients
2 tsps chili powder
1 tsp cajun seasoning
15 oz navy beans
1 cup brown rice
Instructions
1. If using minute rice, boil 1 cup of water.
2. Add in rice, 1 can navy beans, chili powder and cajun seasoning.
3. Return to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer, cover and cook for 5 minutes.
4. Take off heat, stir, cover and let sit for 5 minutes.
5. Salt and pepper to taste.
6. If not using instant rice, cook the rice, chili powder, and cajun seasoning, add the beans for the last 15 minutes. Salt and pepper to taste.
7. Note: you can add green and red peppers, onions, and many other ingredients to this recipe.
