Lunch: Thyme-Pear Gravy

Recipe by Marian Cooper Cairns and Mary Allen Perry Pair with the Pear-Thyme Brined Turkey for a fresh take on Thanksgiving dinner.

Ingredients

1/4 c. butter
1 tbsp. chopped fresh thyme leaves
1 clove garlic
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. pear nectar
1 1/2 c. reserved turkey drippings

Instructions

Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in chopped fresh thyme leaves and minced garlic clove; sauté 1 minute. Whisk in flour, and cook, whisking constantly, 1 to 2 minutes or until smooth. Gradually add pear nectar and reserved drippings to saucepan; bring to a boil, whisking constantly. Reduce heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, 5 to 10 minutes or until desired thickness. Serve with Pear-Thyme Brined Turkey.
