Lunch: Pear-fection

Blue cheese and pears are the perfect flavor pair, and walnuts add crunch. If blue cheese is too stinky for you, substitute 1 heaping tablespoon of strawberry jam. But don't write-off blue cheese forever. Taste buds change, so give it another try in a few

Health and fertility benefits of Pear-fection

Nuts are a natural source of Inositol, a derivative of Vitamin B (which is often prescribed in the form of supplements for women with PCOS). Inositol can effectively control the symptoms of PCOS by reducing insulin resistance and improving insulin sensitivity. Walnuts are low on the glycemic index. What’s more, they also lower the glycemic index of other foods that you eat in conjunction with these nuts. Any kind of nuts provide a healthy source of fat and a great way to encourage PCOS weight loss.

Ingredients

1 pear
1/4 c. low-fat cream cheese
1/4 c. crumbled blue cheese
1/2 tsp. milk
handful walnuts

Instructions

Use the knife to slice the cored pear on the cutting board into disks about 1 ⁄4 inch thick.
Combine the cheeses and the milk in the mixing bowl. Stir with the spoon until well blended. Spread the mixture on the pear slices.
Sprinkle the walnuts on top of the cheese.
