Agave has a low glycemic index (GI) of 17.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon light agave nectar
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 ounces mezcal
2 ounces fresh lime juice
1 ounce Grand Marnier (orange-flavored liqueur)
2 lime slices

Instructions

Combine all ingredients except lime slices in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Stir vigorously for 30 seconds; strain into 2 ice-filled glasses. Garnish each drink with a lime slice.
