Ingredients

1 tsp five-spice powder
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/2 tbsp black pepper
1 tsp rice vinegar
1 tsp sesame oil
1 lb chicken breast
1/4 cup apple juice
2 cups unsweetened applesauce
0.12 cup cilantro
3 tsps ginger root
1 tbsp soy sauce, low sodium

Instructions

1. Sprinkle the chicken with the garlic salt and pepper.

2. Pour the apple juice into a large non-stick skillet and bring to a boil over medium heat.

3. Add the chicken and cook for about 5 minutes, or until the meat looks opaque.

4. In a medium bowl, mix the applesauce, ginger, soy sauce, Chinese 5-spice blend, oil and vinegar.

5. Remove the cooked chicken from the skillet and place it on serving plates.

6. Add the applesauce mixture to the pan, mix well with the pan liquid and bring to a boil. Spoon over the chicken. Sprinkle with the cilantro.
