Broccoli is one of the non-starchy vegetables that has a very low glycemic index (GI), which is beneficial for reducing blood sugar levels. Broccoli is also a source of DIM (Diindolymethane). Diindolymethane is very effective in reducing the testosterone levels in the body, an action that would automatically curb male dominant features and regulate the estrogen levels in the system.

Ingredients

12 oz. orecchiette
12 oz. microwave-in-bag broccoli rabe
1 tbsp. olive oil
12 oz. Italian turkey sausage
1/3 c. sliced sun-dried tomatoes in oil
2 tsp. chopped garlic
1/2 tsp. each salt and crushed red pepper
1/4 c. grated Parmesan

Instructions

Boil orecchiette as package directs, adding broccoli rabe 5 minutes before pasta will be done and reserving 1 cup cooking water before draining.
Meanwhile heat olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add turkey sausage; cook, breaking into chunks with a wooden spoon, 5 minutes or until cooked through. Add sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, salt and crushed red pepper. Sauté 1 minute or until fragrant.
Toss with drained pasta and broccoli rabe, Parmesan and reserved cooking water as needed.
