One tbsp of honey has a glycemic index (GI) of 55.
Ingredients
1 tbsp honey
1 package bakers yeast
3/4 cup warm water
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup four cheese spaghetti sauce
1 1/2 cups reduced fat shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
1. Dissolve honey and yeast in warm water. Leave for 10 minutes until frothy.
2. In a large bowl stir flour and salt together. Add yeast mixture and stir with a palette knife until a dough ball forms.
3. Turn out on to floured surface and knead for 5 minutes or until smooth and elastic. Form a ball and place in a lightly floured large bowl. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and a damp tea cloth. Let dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour, until doubled in size.
4. Remove dough from bowl and punch down on lightly floured surface. Roll into 12-inch circle and place on a lightly oiled baking sheet, or into a lightly oiled cake pan for pan pizza.
5. Top with sauce, cheese and any of your favorite toppings and bake in a 450 °F (230 °C) oven for 10-13 minutes until golden.
