Side Dish: Red Cabbage and Apples

Crockpot red cabbage and apples that's great with sausages.

Ingredients

1/2 tsp ground cardemon
1 tsp chervil
1 tsp fennel seed
1 tsp savory leaves
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
3 medium apples
1 head medium red cabbage
8 fl oz red wine
1/2 cup red juice
1 cup water

Instructions

1. Pell, core and chop up the apples (Granny Smith). Core and chop the red cabbage.

2. Toss everything in a large pot or a crockpot and simmer until tender.

3. Serve with cooked or grilled sausages.

4. Note: tastes even better when reheated after a few days, but does not freeze well.
