Broccoli is one of the non-starchy vegetables that has a very low glycemic index (GI), which is beneficial for reducing blood sugar levels. Broccoli is also a source of DIM (Diindolymethane). Diindolymethane is very effective in reducing the testosterone levels in the body, an action that would automatically curb male dominant features and regulate the estrogen levels in the system.
Ingredients
1 bunch broccoli, cut into florets
1 head cauliflower, cut into florets
1/2 pound snow peas
1 pint cherry tomatoes
1/2 cup butter (1 stick) melted
Garlic powder to taste
Salt and pepper
Instructions
In a large pot fitted with a steamer basket, bring water to a boil and add vegetables successively starting with broccoli and cauliflower, about 3 minutes, then snow peas about 3 more minutes, then cherry tomatoes, until all vegetables are fork tender (a fork can easily be poked through). Transfer vegetables to a large mixing bowl and season with garlic powder and salt and pepper, to taste, and toss with melted butter.
