Health and fertility benefits of Charred Broccolini with Lemon
Broccoli is one of the non-starchy vegetables that has a very low glycemic index (GI), which is beneficial for reducing blood sugar levels. Broccoli is also a source of DIM (Diindolymethane). Diindolymethane is very effective in reducing the testosterone levels in the body, an action that would automatically curb male dominant features and regulate the estrogen levels in the system. Lemons can help to prevent oxidative damage to the body, which women with PCOS are often susceptible to.
Ingredients
12 ounces broccolini
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 lemon, halved
3/4 teaspoon coarse sea salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper
Cooking spray
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese shavings
Instructions
Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Place broccolini in a medium bowl; drizzle with oil and juice of 1/2 a lemon. Sprinkle with salt and black and red peppers, tossing to coat.
