Health and fertility benefits of Sweet & Spicy Green Juice

Cinnamon is one of the best ingredients that someone with insulin sensitivity can eat. Half a teaspoon of cinnamon per day has been shown to be very effective at normalizing blood sugar levels. Cinnamon contains hydroxychalcone, which is thought to enhance the effects of insulin. It has also been suggested that Cinnamon prevents post-meal blood sugar spikes by slowing the gastric emptying rate - meaning that food digests slowly. (Reference: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11506060). Kale is an excellent source of calcium, which has an important role in egg maturation and follicle development in the ovaries. Fresh spinach is an excellent source of vitamin K, vitamin A, vitamin C, and vitamin B6, all of which have significant roles in reducing inflammation in the body, all of which help in the case of infertility. One tbsp of honey has a glycemic index (GI) of 55.

Ingredients

1 tbsp honey
2 tsps ground cinnamon
1/10 hot chili pepper
1/4 tbsp ground nutmeg
3 medium bananas
1 1/2 cups kale, chopped
2 cups spinach
1 cup water

Instructions

2. Either chill in fridge or add some ice, blend again and enjoy.

3. Note: the chili pepper gives it a little kick, start with a sliver and add more to taste.
