Health and fertility benefits of Big Apple Martini

Cinnamon is one of the best ingredients that someone with insulin sensitivity can eat. Half a teaspoon of cinnamon per day has been shown to be very effective at normalizing blood sugar levels. Cinnamon contains hydroxychalcone, which is thought to enhance the effects of insulin. It has also been suggested that Cinnamon prevents post-meal blood sugar spikes by slowing the gastric emptying rate - meaning that food digests slowly. (Reference: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11506060). Lemons can help to prevent oxidative damage to the body, which women with PCOS are often susceptible to.

Ingredients

3 ounces orange-flavored vodka, such as Grey Goose L' Orange
1 lemon wedge
1/4 small apple, diced
3/4 ounce simple syrup
3/4 ounce vanilla citrus liqueur, such as Tuaca
1 1/4 ounces fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon sugar
Lime wedge

Instructions

In a cocktail shaker, combine the orange-flavored vodka, lemon wedge, diced apple, simple syrup, vanilla citrus liqueur and fresh lemon juice. Shake over ice.
For the rim of the glass, combine the sugar and cinnamon to create a sugar-cinnamon mixture. Moisten the rim of a chilled cocktail glass with a lime wedge, and then roll the edge of the glass in the mixture.
