Lemons can help to prevent oxidative damage to the body, which women with PCOS are often susceptible to. Agave has a low glycemic index (GI) of 17.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons agave nectar
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 Bartlett pear, cored and cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 wedge triple-cream Brie, kept cold, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
5 to 6 slices prosciutto, cut in half lengthwise
Serving suggestion: lavash bread or crackers

Instructions

In a bowl, whisk together the agave, lemon juice, allspice and cayenne. Add the pear cubes and gently toss to coat. Thread 1 cube of pear onto each skewer. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. When the skillet is hot, add the skewers and cook until the pear becomes golden brown, about 30 seconds on each side. Remove the skewers from the skillet, add a cube of Brie to each, and thread the prosciutto the skewers. Serve immediately with lavash or crackers.
